  1. Learn to question your sense of how much danger you really are in at any time.
  2. Memorize a few brief sayings that you can repeat to yourself immediately when you first feel
    threatened. Then practice them religiously.
  3. Surround yourself with safe people.
  4. Consider getting help to specifically address your traumatic history and to help you separate the
    past from the present.
